10.3.9 crashing/freezing

My parents' G5 IMac running 10.3.9 freezes with no apparent response to
any commands except power off. At first I thought the latest upgrade of
Safari was doing it because it was freezing after about two minutes of
Safari use. I quit using Safari and things seemed to improve, but
yesterday it froze while I was using Netscape, or maybe in the Finder.

The first time it froze 2 weeks ago was when software upgrade was
downloading a security upgrade.

Does anyone know what this is or how I can figure out what's causing the
problem?

Stephen

That page is about scrambled video, no video or no power. My parents
iMac freezes/crashes so that seems a different problem.

No, this logicboard failure can also show a freeze as symptom.
The only question is, is your serial number listed there or not.
I'm not sure that your logicboard is bad. I had the same problems and
they replaced the logicboard but there are thousands of possible reasons
why a system can freeze.
