1GHz/1Gb Titanium Powerbook...

At least it boots and starts the networking.

When I try to launch Safari I am invited to submit a bug report...

I did.

I'm not sure what's up. I rebooted a couple of times and I
deleted Safari's cache. Internet Exploder seems to work as
well as it ever does...

When I launch Safari it "Unexpectedly quits"

I sent in a bug report so I'll wait and see if anything
turns up. Everything else seems to be OK so far.

Same thing. Same thing after I rebooted again. Same thing 8 or 10
times except once I got a spinner and had to force quit...

Same thing againb just now...

Does your Safari startup with a specific HOME page?

Maybe it is a web site that gets loaded when you startup.

Try looking for it in the Home -> Library -> com.apple.Safari.plist

Hi

Thanks for the suggestion. I start Safari on a blank page.

I renamed com.apple.Safari.plist and Safari briefly opens a window
before unexpectedly quitting and offering to send the dump to Apple.

I found the problem. I was using the Acid Search Plugin and when I
deleted it's home directory Safari launches, apparently without
problems. I'll try reinstalling it, and if the crashes reoccur, I'll
drop a note to the developers.

Thanks again

Claude

No Pith Helmet.

Turns out that it was Acid Search.

Uninstalling that allows Safari to launch and load pages.

I dropped a note to the Acid Search developer.

Hopefully it wont be anything too complex to fix.
Acid Search is a neat little plugin.

I noticed that the new Safari added a bunch of stuff to
the bookmarks bar. Dunno if that had anything to do with
the compatibility problem

Thanks for helping

PithHelmet checks the version of Safari. If the version of
Safari is greater than PithHelmet expects, it puts up a
dialog box telling you so and that PithHelmet won't be loaded.
Safari then runs as normal, just without PH.

After upgrading to 10.3.9, safari (now 1.3) starts, but without pith
helmet. I miss its blocking of ads and hope it gets fixed soon.
