I recently acquired this motherboard with cpu but nothing else.
It has onboard audio connecters on the back of the board where the
LAN, video, etc reside. In the BIOS, I can enable audio support but in
the system summary it keeps saying audio DISABLED. In Windows, I
downloaded the SoundMax audio driver for this system but during
installation I repeatedly get the error: Severe: audio driver not
found." Since my XP Pro installation indicates no audio icon in the
lower right hand corner, it appears that onboard audio enabling might
not be possible with the onboard setup. Does anyone know why the bios
won't enable audio for this system?? I prefer to use the onboard setup
rather than a legacy card. The bios is the most recent with this
system. I noticed that there is an audio connector on the motherboard near
the
pci slots. Did this system come with a special audio card to connect
this to...so that the rear connectors would function properly? Sorry,
but I'm at a complete loss here...thanks for any help.
