8500LE Horz Problem

Hi, I'm new to this group and hope someone can help.

I"m running a Radeon 8500LE 128MB, XP Pro, AMD 2400(oc'd to 2600) and a
ViewSonic VG800 18" LCD (1280x1024).
I've installed all the latest drivers for vid card, mobo, monitor, and XP
updates including DirectX, but I still have the same problem.
I hope I describe this correctly, but the screen image will be centered on
the monitor display for awhile and then, for some unknown
reason, the next time I boot the screen image will be horizontally about an
inch and half above bottom edge of the monitor display
and, obviously an inch and an half of the top part of the screen image is
unseen.
I've installed and unistalled drivers, changed res's, but the problem keeps
recurring.

Any help, suggestions will be appreciated.

Correction, I meant to say vert not horz.
