I cannot get my pc to boot when all 3 memory slots are filled. I'm
using 3 sticks of PC2100 mem. 1 512 meg PC2100 Crucial module, 2 256
meg PC2100 PNY modules. The pc only boots when in single channel mode.
No BIOS beet codes, just a bland screen upon pressing ther power
button. Even if I populate 2 sticks in the dual channel mode slots,
the pc will not boot. HELP. I'm about to break that POS Motherboard if
I can't solve this. I'm not goint to upgrade the memory. PC2100 fits
my needs just fine. Any suggestions? I had the same DAMN problem with
my old A7V266 MB. In my experience, Asus motherboards tend to be very
finiky about memory. I swear this is my last asus board I'm going to
use.

For what it's worth: I was unable to use memory (2 256Mb PC 2100
modules) from 2 different manufacturers with my ASUS A7N8X deluxe MB
that I had been using without problem on a SOYO Dragon K7V. The A7N8X
would run either stick just fine. In fact the memory benchmarked
considerably better in the ASUS board than it did in the SOYO board.
The ASUS also did not like a 512 MB stick of PNY PC2700 memory I tried.
However, it is very happy with the Simple Technology memory I
installed which is what I am using now. In conclusion I think you could
say that the A7N8X is fussy about the memory you try to feed it. Having
said that I don't at all regret buying it. For 135 bucks delivered FedEx
to my front door how can I complain? That's a bargain.
