Thanks to all who posted assistance. The problem ended up stemming
from the latest Nvidia drivers (5303) & punkbuster inside of Quake
III. If I disabled punkbuster, the game would play with the 5303
drivers, but you practically cannot play an online game without PB, so
removed the drivers and re-installed 45.23. Played for 2 hours last
night... without a hitch.
Finally, minus the damn video driver issue, the AN7 has been a great
board. Rock solid and very fast.
