Acer CD/DVD burner

I'm currently using ACER laptop now and my problem is that I can't burn a CD/DVD but the it says in the control panel that my device is in function but how come I can't do some burning?please hlp me with this.

u can update your app software

If your cd or dvd drive isnt working properly but you can see it in the device manager, and it has worked before.

And if you have tryed uninstalling it, updateing drivers.
