All in one 7280 and Mac

I have a 7280 AIO on a mixed network. I need to be able to scan to a few
different machines. When I hit the Scan button on the AIO, the Macs and PCs
appear in the machine's display. If I select the PC, I then choose a program
and off the scan goes.

However, with the Mac, I select the machine, select the program and the AIO
gives me an error that it lost communication with the computer. If I leave
the paper in the scanning tray and then run to the mac, open the scanner
software, select scan, the scanner springs to life, and finishes the job.

Normally, this isn't a bad work around except the computer and scanner are
on different floors.

Is there a setting or something that can address this?
