Alps TouchPad driver problem

Greetings

I use a HP zv5000 notebook. There is a problem with touch pad driver.
When I install it, I have problems with keyboard - sometimes keys tend
to block on random occasions, with no pattern. It is especially visible
when playing games - I press for example "forward", after some time I
release it, but my character still moves forward. It happens with random
games, random keys. The keys themsevles are ok - I mean that there is no
hardware problem, because when I uninstall the driver, Windows switches
to generic mouse driver and almost everything is ok. Almost, because
without dedicated driver I loose touch pad functions - for example
scrolling.

Has anyone experienced such problem? How to solve it? I tried varius
drivers for my notebook - starting from these being on the CD with the
computer, ending with the newest obtained from the HP support page.

I would be extremely grateful for any help.

I get a similar problem with Half-Life on my desktop - pressing the
forward key does nothing, but releasing and pressing again moves me
(i've had it happen for so long now, i'm not even sure if I need to
back up a little prior to pressing it again, I do it sub-consciously
now).
