Alt+C Dead on Inspiron 600m

Hi everyone,

It seems that the combination of keys Alt+c is dead on my keyboard on an
Inspiron 600m. The c key works fine, as does Alt+Shift+c (I use a Polish
keyboard in US Windows (and a US laptop), which has been working fine for
the past two years).

It seems therefore that it may be a software issue. But what kind? What
could be globally intercepting keyboard calls in ALL applications.

Changing the keyboard driver for another one with the Alt+c character built
in does not change the situation, so it's not the Polish keyboard driver.

Thanks for any ideas!

I would assume that you've attempted a Windows restore back to a date prior
to the loss of function?

is this true no matter which alt key you press (left or right?)

You might try booting into Safe Mode, then trying the combination.

It's possible that one of your Startup programs is intercepting the keypress
requests.

It seems that ATI Catalyst Control Centre was the culprit. Disable it's
shortcut and it all works now.

Thanks,
