AN8 sli - Audiomax1 - noob question

Howdy all...

I can't seem to get the audio working on this new system.
Does the cable from the CD/DVD to the Audiomax daughtercard have to be
installed?
Windows XP doesnt seem to see the daughtercard is it supposed to?

Everything else is great so far!

The first question would be to see if you have it in the right slot....???
Its the 2nd slot up above the PCI-E16 slot.Is that where it is??
2nd......check your settings in the BIOS to see if it is turned on.

On my AN8-Sli the card was recognized and drivers were installed but It
never did send an audio signal to the rear speakers.I had double checked all
connections and still not luck..so I finally gave up and installed an older
5.1 sound card and all went well.

He moved the card from the PCI-1 slot to the audio slot
