I'm assuming that you are connecting it to the computer with a USB cable? Does
Vista's built-in scanning software work with it? Is the scanner detected by
Vista? If it's detected by Vista, you have a choice of some 3rd party scanning
software, if THAT software will even work with Vista. At some point, HP will
produce a version of PrecisionScan to run with Vista, for all of the scanners it
DOES support. Until then, you may be stuck.
Parallel port scanning is a dead issue with the newer versions of Windows.
Sadly, welcome to the world of Windows Vista, "the hardware sales act of 2007".
The same scenario will repeat itself with Vista that happened with XP and 95.
Lots and lots and lots of hardware devices will be orphaned for lack of software
drivers for Vista... Ben Myers
