I want to update my tuner card, (AVerMedia UltraTV) it's a little old, '02
vintage. I want to pickup buss mastering compliance so it will behave nicely
with VISTA when I go that way. I also want to pickup Atsc while I am at it.

Has anyone got any experience with Hauppauge 1128 PCI-E WinTV-HVR1800 MCE.
Its got all the good stuff - Analogue TV, ATSC TV, FM, remote control.

My current board the AVerMedia has analogue TV, FM, and remote. I want all
that and Atsc and Vista compatibility. When I first built this mobo - P5W
DH Deluxe, I had problems with this tuner and my modem not liking each
other. I blame buss-mastering problems (doesn't have it) with the two old
cards in this fancy mobo. I had to pull out the modem to get the tuner to
work.

I can't find any feedback on usenet on this board, or any tuner cards for
that matter. I did a quick search on Google and only found out that the
board was introduced in 1/07.

I'm wondering if this is a good board to go with or should I wait for '08
and see what comes out, (the last full year that analogue will be
broadcasted locally without a cable company feeding your signal.) And
probably when Vista will be worth installing?????

Newegg has a good deal on it. I've got the scratch. Help!

William

I am using their Win TV PCI card. Guess it's similar to what you mention.

I'll have to say that I thought the interface and picture of the ATI tuner
card was a lot better but it wouldn't work (reliably) on my current
setup. P5B with dual monitor setup.

ATI driver's are very temperamental, Worked flawlessly on an old MB though.
If you buy ATI, keep receipt !
Good Luck
