When AOL installs, from version 7.0 and up i believe, it asks to be
made the default application for CD Playback. If you have a lot of
people that use the computer, and / or you didn't catch what AOL was
asking before you just clicked on OK, then AOL made itself the defualt
program for playing CD's.
The quickest way to fix this, in my opinion, is to go to Windows
Explorer View and right click on any mp3, wav, cda, or similar audio
file, and choose to "Open With..." When your open with ... menu
appears, highlight the program you want to play your audio files with,
then look at the bootom of that window for a check box that asks,
"Always use this program to open this type of file" or something to
that effect, then click ok. Windows Media Player works, but WinAmp is
very cool, and have a ton of cool stuff -
www.winamp.com - in fact,
installing winamp my very well take care of your problem altogether
just so long as you make it your defualt audio player for CD's.
Hope I helped
