ASROCK K7SX8-E Using FSB to overclock Cpus

Hi, I have an XP1700+ and a 2400+ and was wondering if I could just boot
them up to 400 FSB without problems on this cheapo board? Cooler would be
either CoolerMaster Xtreme or Akasa Silver Mountain 7000 rpm, the 1700+ has
been running as a 2200+ (333 FSB) on a Asrock K7S8X (Non-R3.0) for some time
w/o difficulty...

You need to lower the multiplier on the 2400+ before raising the FSB to
200MHz. The CPU won't work at 15x200 (3000MHz). As for the 1700+, if it's
a tbred B core and you raise vcore (either on cpu or pinmod, or whatever
way you want) then it should work fine at 11x200.

The 1700+ is one of 'those' ones, JIUHB or summat like that so have high
hopes for it! Don't think the 2400+ is unlocked tho + I've never done it so
prob won't bother...

Would a 1700+ really run as a 3200+ air-cooled? I find that amazing... may
push my 2800+ a bit further then cos only running it as a 3200+ at the mo...

Raise vcore on the 1700+ to 1.65v or more if needed. It should run fine at
200Mhz FSb and default 11 multiplier. If your 2400+ is locked, you won't
be able to unlock it. Older models are unlocked. Newer models are locked
internally and brides don't matter. If that's the case, all you can do is
raise FSB to about 145Mhz.

For ther 1700+ to run as a 3200+, it'd have to run close to 2400MHz since
it only has 256K cache where the Barton core has 512K.
