I experience random boots with my system. When running at default
speed 166*12,5 the system will boot aprox. every 10 minutes. The only
way I have got it stabilized is to underclock the system. It seems to
be stable around 100*12,5
The Award Bios emits periodic high/low beeps at boot. This seem to
indicate CPU error causing boot ? I have run the memtest program and
this turned out OK. When ran at 166*12,5 the PRIME95 program will boot
the system at once when i run the Benchmark test. When underclocked to
1,25 GHz, the PRIME95 test is fine.
My system:
- abit NF7-s 2.0 Socket A, NForce2, Ultra 400
- AMD Athlon XP 2800+ 2.075 GHz, 333Mhz
- Aopen cabinet with 350 W power supply
- Sapphire Radeon 9200 Atlantis 128 MB ViVO
- Thermaltake VOLCANO 11 Xaser
At boot the temperatures seems to be fine (around 47 degrees Celcius
at CPU) Dont think this is a heat problem.
May be a defect CPU, or can it be the CPU to RAM interface (even
though the memtest seemed OK?)
Anybody else has experienced something like this ?
