My friend has bought an ATI Radeon 9800SE from someone who wanted to flash
BIOS on it. The card was originally flashed with Xpert Bios (i suppose so
but i don't know that for sure) and now atiflash and flashrom say that there
is an Gigabyte Bios. We've tried several programs to flash original bios
into that card but we only get messages error messages:
1. from atiflash: ERROR: DATA NOT ERASED
2. from flashrom: Error: block protect not disabled, status=0E.
We also tried other bios files but we sometimes get messages like that say
that memcfg's are different (we have to use -f option), the BIOS is LOCKED
or that the bios we try to force in that card isn't gigabyte bios. So my
question is how do we get the new bios into that card? Is there a
possibility to go around that lock and force the original XpertVision BIOS
or any other bios? What program should we use to do that because atiflash
and flashrom don't work.
