I have an ABIT BD7-RAID motherboard that operated for some time without
problems, now it currently exhibits the following: Upon power-up, the POST
LED display toggles through several steps, halts for a moment at 26 (not in
manual), beeps a long beep followed by 2 short beeps, continues on through
the POST, halts for a moment at 86 (not in manual), then continues on to FF
(listed in the manual = boot attempt) where the floppy drive is accessed
indefinately. Placing a boot disk in the floppy has no effect past this
stage. All the while there is no video display.

I have removed the video card without any change in the POST. Any ideas or
POST code identification would be greatful.

Ken

I have tried reseating the ram (have 2 sticks of 512Mb), and have tried
booting without the video card as mentioned. Only other peripheral card is
a network card which was also removed, same effect. Any ideas to the
definition of POST 26, 86 and/or the beep codes?

Thankx,

Ken
