beeps upon start up

we have just installed a new HD and RAM. When we start up the pc it
makes one long beep and 3 short ones. Any ideas as to what we have
done wrong?

It depends on the BIOS that you have.
Probably something wrong with the RAM.

If you have an AMI bios, 1 long and 3 short means a memory problem.

Is the memory you installed the right type to match your motherboard
and processor speeds?

Does the computer work again if you put the old ram back in/

What motherboard do you have, and what ram did you buy?
