Bios Update for IBM 300GL / 300 PL

I've got 4 old IBM PCs and made 2 working pcs with SuSE 10.0, which should
be used by children for playing (bsdgames, frozen bubble, a.s.o.)

Maybe it makes sense to update the bios, but I don't know which machines I
have exactly. Teh case says it is 1 IBM 300 GL and 1 IBM 300 PL. But I
don't trust the cases.

I'm not familiar with these products, but AFAICS the product code is
6862, so your URL appears to be the correct one. It would help to
understand the nomenclature of the BIOS version ID, though. I'd first
try swapping the BIOS chips between the two PCs (if they are
socketed). That would give me the confidence to say that both are
300PLs.
