My screen goes black when I put my Mini to sleep or shut it off, but it
flashes "NO SIGNAL." If it were my display and it simply turned black,
I'd check power connections. If it still acted up, I'd see about
swapping it to another computer to see if it still acted up.

There was a time when my screen used to turn blue for a few seconds at a
time. Screwing down the video connector fixed that.

Hmmm, I *did* have a response in there when I submitted it. Lost in
the ether, I guess.

What I *meant* to say was "You *have* ruled out display sleep in System
Preferences -> Energy Saver, right?"
