Yo...
I'm building a server with several (multibooting) systems on it.
I've tried to boot multible HD's like C: is primary IDE-1 and SATA-1.
I'm also trying booting from the secondary SATA-2 and IDE-2 but that is'nt
working.
Is there a posibility or an adjustment to boot from different HD's instead
of multibooting from one HD ?

There are boot loaders for this, but the important question is 'what
operating systems' are you going to do this with? MS-DOS, Windows 95,
98, and 98SE can only boot from the 1st partition on the 1st drive. I
am not sure about Windows Me. Almost all the others OS's I have played
with don't care.

The OS on the 1st partition of the 1st drive would be the deciding
factor for the program you need.

My Intel mobo was a real frustration. It works one way with NT ( win2000
winxp etc. ) and another with 9x ( win98 etc. ). For some reason the board
only supports certain configurations on 9x whereas it works slightly
differently with NT. It took me a long time to figure out how to do a
dualboot 9x/NT . It required switching the board to 'Legacy' and booting
from the IDE drive.

In the end I found it simpler just to use my SATA drives and NT and drop the
IDE harddrive and 9x.

By the way, my board requires that I load the Intel drivers from a floppy
when I install Windows XP.

if you wanna dual boot from your computer, you have to follow the following
order to install OSs.....Window98(or ME) --> Windows 2000 --> Windows XP
Pro........you wont be able to have to Win98 systems exist on the same
box......by the way....the Win2000 and XP will give you an option to choose
what OS you want to boot during the start-up if you have two systems
installed on the box........if you want to dual boot Win and Linex together
on the same box, you will definitly have to install Windows first, then
install Linex on a separate partition.....then the Linex will give you an
option at start-up to choose what OS to boot.....

BTW.....the first installed partition will be the system partition....no
matter it's C, D, E, or so.......and no matter how many OSs you installed on
the computer, you will always have to boot from the system
partition..........if you really want to install two or more OSs on
different partitions, and also boot from different partitions, you will need
to install then separately on upto three primary active partitions, which
will take three HDD)....
