Booting Issue

Hi Folks,

I have a strange booting issue with my K7S5A Pro and an IBM DeskStar
180GXP (80GB) disk drive. I installed my OS (Gentoo Linux) on the disk
and created a valid MBR (compared with other MBRs on working systems),
but for some reason the BIOS does not recognize the MBR and continues
to tell me that there is no system disk.

The BIOS version is 02/06/2002 S -- and as such pretty old, so I
assume that I have to flash the BIOS no matter what. But I'd like to
know if someone has experienced the same issue and if this combination
is known to work _somewhere_.

Regards,
Dennis
