Almost all the PCs I see there have Vista, which I hate. What would
they charge to put in one of the XPs.... if, they would even do that?

Also.. If I were to get a lower end NEW PC, would it cost more or less
to have XP in it?

TY

No. They are what they are. You can usually find XP on many of the
systems.

What are you looking for?

I don't think they will do that. My understanding is you are buying a
previous setup system so you can't have it customized in hardware or
software "from dell".

Sorry, I don't know.

1) the Outlet systems configurations can't be changed. But there are/will
be more XP systems there. You just have to check frequently.

2) some new systems still have XP offered (Vostro notebooks/desktops) come
to mind, and there's no extra charge.

Leesa_Tay,
When looking at the Outlet Store, also look under the Business Machine
section. They offer Optiplex Systems with XP still on them.

When I bought my XPS 410 I was able to upgrade the warranty for $100.
I only did that because it was my first outlet purchase. After I had
the PC for a while I cancelled my warranty, and they refunded $179! I
would have been honest and would have told Dell about their error, but
I decided not to because all of my "Dell Hell" experiences was when I
messed with things.

Unless your PC is an extra PC, I would take the safe route and go for
XP. I know I sound like I waffle in my opinion of Vista, but I have a
XP fallback system and my main complaint is not what Vista is, but
what it could have been, if that makes sense.
