Hi,

I just installed an AMD k6 3/400afr cpu on my socket 7. I changed the speed
from 300 to 400 on sw1. How could I find out these specs running under Win
98.

Would the + in AMD-K6(tm) 3D + Processor, be the answer to the k6 III
presense?

Regards

Richard

Go to start, run and type "dxdiag", no quotes, and press enter. If it
asks if you want to 'certify" it say no. It will give you lots of info
about your pc. The data you seek is on the 1st page.

Thanks George,

The diag only specifies "AMD-K6(tm) 3D + Processor" at 400 Mhz. It is not
explicit as to wether it is a k6-2 or a k6-3 (unless the + means it is a
k6-3)

Any other suggestions?

Regards

Richard

You can look for "Everest", it is free for home use. It is MUCH more
detailed.

Thanks George,

I did not liked the license on Everest.

I used cpu-z and got my answers. It is an amd k6 III.

It should be between 1.5 to 3 times faster than the 300 mhz K6-II I had. It
is fairly obvious on photo processing!

Thanks again

Richard
