i think this reply is on the right track to the answer...
when you used maxblast to configure the new drive positioned in the
secondary 1 position the boot drive (primary 0) was updated so that this
large drive could be fully utilized in this older system which only natively
recognizes 80gb or so drives.
but instead of even troubleshooting and guessing why you are having
problems... why not try this?:
put the 120 in the primary 1 position (where you ultimately want it to me)
and put the old 60gb data drive on the secondary controller. run maxblast
and set up the 120gb again and copy the 60gb again... then replace the 60gb
with the original cd drive.
