can't use 2 USB ports simultaneously

on a dell PC using win98 - cannot use both USB ports at the
same time. - tried changing bios, downloading drivers (for
new device (Logitech quickcam)

Blue screen with error message
0028:Ci45F45E VSD in sym(NDIS( 01)
and 000033OE when inserting device into second port

any suggestions?

You could try reinstalling windows as essential files may be issing

Yes - try plugging it into the other port.

Try using a POWERED HUB (one with an adapter) - on some old computers
they have limmited power supply.

Try using two somple things (such as two joysticks - or if you have a
ouse in that port adding a joystick) and playing a game checking for
errors.

If your PC has an empty PCI slot you might consider installing an add-in USB
2.0 card.

As another poster mentioned, you *may* need to use a powered hub if the PC
doesn't meet the USB specifications for power.

Thanks for the help

Got the two USB ports going for cable and
flash memory.

Will try usb Port Hub with power adapter
for the camera.
