Cheapo 2D Core Duo OC build

Okay so I'm upgrading a friend's computer from an Athlon XP setup and I've
come up with the following solution:

AsRock ConRoe1333-D667 R1.0 (with onboard video) - $53
E2160 OC to ~3GHz - $85
Wintec 1GB DDR800 - $30

Total = ~$165

I can keep the PSU, HD, optical drive, case. That should get me just about
set.

What do you all think?

Don't think you'll get close to your overclock on this board. They were only
able to get an E6600 up to 2.7 so I don't see how you expect to get the
E2160 to 3.0.

I think the E2160 is capable of 3Ghz with overvolting, but not with a bottom
feeder motherboard.

There are some people who have gotten 3G's with a better board, but we're
upgrading on the super-cheap here and a ~11% decrease in speed is no big
deal. Besides, 2.7GHz on an E2160 is only 1000x faster than the Athlon XP

Well, I like the choice, an excellent bang for one's buck. I was on a very
restricted budget too and opted for an ASrock 4coreDual SATA2 + E2160. I was
so poor I couldn't afford to buy new DDR2 RAM. All I've had to eat this
month is a packet of rich tea biscuits. Etc. Anyway the E2180's weren't
around at the time but never mind - dammit though, they're only £57 now. My
board is certainly not an overclocker's dream but when I ramped the fsb from
200 to 280 - 2.52GHz, there was no problem, seems to run cool enough with
the stock cooler. My old DDR memory holds me back from going much further.
But as it is - really rock solid, fast system too, it took me quite by
surprise, even with apps that only utilize one core. Cracking little chips,
those 21x0's, for paupers and proper people alike, and it appears to give
AMD's X2 6000 and FX62 (on their stock speeds) a bit of a beating.
