Choosing my motherboard

I'd like a motherboard compatible with the Intel Core 2 Q6600 processor and the nVidia 9800 GTX video card.
How should I choose a brand (should it be the same as my video card brand)?
Should I take into account RAM when choosing the board, or should I choose the board and then choose RAM according to the board?
