We have a couple of Compaq TC1000 tablet pcs at work. We
got a copy of Windows XP Tablet Edition with through our
Select agreement (2 CDs). I am trying to do a clean
install of Tablet Edition. The first cd appears to be
just Windows XP Pro. and the second cd has a tabletpc.cab
file on it. What am I supposed to do with that cab
file? Do I have to slipstream that with a copy of XP pro
and then do the install for all the features to work?

Any help would be great!

Thanks
Eric

Did you receive any documentation along with those disks? If not, you should
contact the person who sent you the disks. The documentation should cover
the steps you need to follow to install using the CDs. (It's not a simple
matter of running setup.exe on CD1.)

Victoria, if they are select cds, the MICROSOFT is the vendor who sent them. So do you have an answer? I have the same issue. We do not recieve manuals with SELECT cds

Would appreciate if someone could actually take ownership of this questions from MS

Thank you

Hi,
Sorry, my mistake, I thought you received documentation, but it turns out
that you don't.

Below I've pasted in links to the deployment documentation. Let us know if
you have any further questions about how to deploy Tablets.

----
For a detailed document about deploying Tablet PCs by using unattended
installations, Remote Installation Services (RIS), and the System
Preparation Tool (Sysprep), visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/technet/itt...y/TPCDploy.asp
For information about how to deploy a single Windows XP image for desktops,
laptops, and Tablet PCs, visit the following Microsoft Web site:
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...DisplayLang=en
(Note The information in this article supplements the processes outlined in
the deployment document above.)
