Is it ok or even possible to diassemble and clean the keyboard on an H-P
ze5375 laptop? I'm getting some indications that it may be necessary.

If "disassemble" means removing the key caps from the keyboard, the best answer
is no, because they are devilishly hard to put back on.

But you can disassemble the entire computer and remove the keyboard, making it
easier to clean. If there is loose dirt in and around the keys, squirting
compressed air can remove a lot of it. Otherwise, q-tips dampened with
isopropyl alcohol do a good job. So does poking out the dirt with a
toothpick... Ben Myers

I just turn the notebook upside down and blow the dirt/dust out with a can
of compressed air.
I wipe the keys with some alcohol on a cloth.

Then squeeze the remaining alcohol out of the cloth and into your mouth when
done? Do you use vodka, because it has little or no smell? What about Wild
Turkey, Jack Daniels or Myers Rum (no relation)? :>) ... Ben Myers

Couple of years ago I used the air compressor in the machine shop to
blow out a keyboard. I'm still finding key caps in odd corners to this
day.

But, if nothing else, it was the highlight of my week! Keycaps *every
where*! <bg>
