When you say EXACT, you ain't kidding. EXACT model down to the very last letter
in the model identifier. Any less of a match and swapping circuit boards on a
drive will not work.

I was lucky to find an exact match for a failing drive once, managed to copy the
data, then had to deal with a totally unappreciative client who had no clue what
a stroke of luck it is and the relative difficulty of salvaging the data.

Recently, I was not so lucky, and my client ended up paying a couple of thousand
dollars to get back all her business data, which had not been backed up
properly. Client now has a USB hard drive and can plug it in to make copies
periodically... Ben Myers

Even more exact than that. Match REVISIONS on the controller card.

Freezing didn't work. I need a bigger hammer... It shows in device manager
but won't populate. I may give SpinRite a try.
