Go to the Intel web site, and download the motherboard chipset drivers and video
drivers for any Intel board with an 845 chipset. I ***THINK*** that the
Ethernet is also Intel Pro something or other, also available for most any Intel
845 chipset motherboard. And the audio may be ADI1981, IIRC. Very common
audio chip on P4s, and Compaq (or HPaq?) used mainstream chipsets on the P4

What driver do you need? For what component on th
computer

I am hoping that this will be the answer to my prayers. Bottom line I have been sitting on this computer, from a cheaper than cheap friend of mine. He wants to upgrade it or at least have it run to the maximum of its abilities. Couple of questions that I hope can be answered here:

What type of memory does it take? I gathered that it has two DIMM slots...so I am just wondering if the memory is still available for purchase somewhere - and whats the max that I can get?

My impression is that this computer isn't that old - but in computer years its ancient. My question - am I able to add a hard drive? Can it be internal or would it have to be external usb?

That's pretty much it. I have been sitting on this computer for a year and I tried a few times to try and find it at compac to no avail. But then I just decided to try and enter the "title" info in a search and up this site popped. Any help would be most appreciated. For me, and my dimm witted friend.
