Hi all!

ok, this is an old machine from 1993. Hope that someone has a hint for
this problem: I have a COMPAQ LTE Lite 4/33C and it looks like new. I
had it stored in its original package in a room for more than 2 years.
it worked perfectly well before and it was not touched during those 2
years. Now, i switched it on..and everything looks fine but the
display stays DARK! The hard disk is fine and spinning but nothing
shows upt on the display. What could have caused that?? How can i fix
it? As i said the machine was not touched for more than 2 years and it
worked perfectly before!

Thanks,

lactose

Try it with an external display, if that works, try shining a bright
torch on the display. If you can see a very dark, faint display, then
it's likely to be the inverter or the cold cathode flourescent tubes
that have failed, or the flexible connection from the lower part to the
display panel.

Shows a list of some parts still available for that machine. Not
recommending them, they just came up first on Google.

thanks, hh

in fact it is still very easy to get parts. a few bucks and u can buy
a second working unit on ebay and use the parts of it. can this be
fixed? i remember that when i opened the packagage it smells
humid...so i believe that humidity caused this. i will have to open
it..maybe it can be fixed..
