Compaq SR1230NX shut-down problem

I own the above referenced desktop PC that I upgraded the video card
to a Xabre 128MB with SiS drivers. It has a 2.2Ghz Athlon and a gig of
ram. The problem comes on copying/cutting and pasting large groups (20
to 40) of jpg files from one directory to another. This frequently
results in the power supply fan revving up and the computer rebooting.
Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing this other than
telling my wife not to take so many pictures?

Probably a power supply stressed beyond its operating limits... Ben Myers
