conecting a laptop HD to my PC

hello,
i destroyed my friends laptop while i was trying to fix the
powersource.
now i would like to connect the small laptop harddrive to my pc so i
can save its contents.

anyone know what kind of connector or wire i need to do this?

There are little adapters available. For example, searching
www.pricewatch.com for ide adapter turns up several
Notebook to IDE hard drive adapters, for about $4 each.
Then your bios has to recognize the drive or you configure it, etc.

Took a quick look on eBay and found two different styles:

I've used one similar, but with a gray ide cable beween the laptop end
and the desktop end. Search on 2.5 3.5 and you should find lots.
