Creator3d firmware update

Hello

I recently purchased a Creator3D (the latest hardware revision, FFB2+
I think it's called) with the hopes that I could use its vesa1600x1200
resolution through a 13W3 to HD15 adapter. Much to my dismay, I found
that the vesa 1600x1200 resolution option is only available on FFB2+
with a more recent firmware. As I understand it though, there is no
physical difference between the card I've got and the cards that can
do the resolution I'd like.

Is there any way to update the firmware of the card, or am I stuck?
Or am I just trying to do too much with my card by getting 1600x1200
on a pc display through an adapter?
