Crossfire 1900XTX and 1950XTX

Hi All
Can I use a 1950XTX master card
and my 1900XTX as the slave?Will the 1950XTX downclock
to match the 1900XTX or will the 1900XTX try and mach the 1950 speeds?

I'm not sure if you can do that,but I do know that the faster card will
throttle it's speed to the slower card. Do you have the 1950XTX now? Why
I ask is that IMHO it's a total waste of money to go crossfire/sli when
the DX10 cards are just around the corner and in Nvidia case there here
now. Of course if you plan to wait a year or more before upgrading to
Vista then this makes more since. But still the x1950XTX is a very
powerful card and should work for you alone for at lest a year. Are you
needing to run your games higher then 1600X1200? Because unless you need
to do that, your single card should be able to handle any game at
1600x1200. JLC

Yes. In fact, you can mix-n-match any of the 1900/1950 XT/XTX cards in
Crossfire, with official driver support.

Neither. The setup will run "asymmetrically", with each card running at its
own clock speed. Depending on the Crossfire mode (scissor, tile, SuperAA,
etc.), the 1950XTX may be effectively limited to the same performance as the
1900XTX, but the 1950's RAM will continue to operate at its higher speed.

Have a 1900XTX running in a DFI-SLI DR and a spare
Opteron 165 so was thinking of getting a DFI CFX3200

Think JLC is right.Will swap the 1900XTX overclocked a bit to the
best board after I have tested it

I am using that exact setup right now. Works like a charm. Other posters in
the thread are wrong, the cards run at their own speed.. neither card gets
downclocked in Xfire.
