D845wn questions

I have a Intel D845WN motherboard w/ a. 1.5g pr. 512 of mem. I would like to
upgrade to a 2.6 processor and 3gigs of ram, the highest the intel website
shows for my board. I have two questions. first I have done alot of computer
work and hardware upgrades, but i havevent upgraded my processor. 1 do I
have to do anything befor I install my new Processor? 2. Can I go higher on
my board like a 3ghz of am I just Stuck w/ a 2.6 it is a 478pin. Thanks for
