D865GBF motheboard questions

Hi, college guy on a tight budget. Has anyone used SINGLE CHANNEL
MEMORY CONFIGURATION AND OPERATION (with one DIMM chip) and if you use
DDR PC2700 memory can you use a cheap Celeron 400 FSB processor
INSTEAD OF THE MORE EXPENSIVE 533 FSB like the manual
recomends.......... on a budget...... as long as it operates for now.
