Whatever the card's memory was, 128MB or 64MB, the Dimension 8200
came, according to the Dell website, with an AGP slot for the
video card. I had a problem with my own Dimension 4400 (lower
level but of the era of 8400s, also an AGP slot, and found that
current AGP cards (now at 8x or so, the 4400 was a 4x slot)
worked satisfactorily in the 4400. (The underlying problem that
caused me to try two 8x cards was that the video circuit had a
fault somewhere, outside of whatever card was in it.)
Check out Best Buy, Circuit City, etc. (or online sources, I'm
into instant gratification, and I have BBs and CCs close at
hand), and you will surely find an AGP card for < $100 that will
work in your 8200 and support your new monitor.
