I have M65 and strange problem with Dual display and Quadro Fx350M
card. When i startup the M65 on D/Dock and use dual display in a way
that there are same screen in both of display Dell external display
and dell laptop display everything is fine. But when i put the
external display as a primary and laptop display secondary and use
them as extended desktop way it works until i restart machine. Windows
starts up normally. Login screen come but i cannot write anything on
the password field computer has halted. After maybe 30sec external
display goes blank and it says no signal. Laptop display is normal
blue and you can move mouse pointer but thats it. And i have to take
it off the D/Dock and startup the computer again. It starts up
normally. And if i configure the dual displays again we go back to
square nro 1. Works fine until restart. I have WIndows XP Pro SP2 all
MS patches. Latest Quadro FX driver from dell website installed. DO
you guys have any idea what could solve this?

I'm not sure that's a good idea.

Have you tried another display? It sounds like your display may not be
identifying itself correctly and the video adapter "thinks" that only
one screen is hooked up. (In theory, this should result in the desktop
being pushed back to the remaining display, but maybe there is a bug
on that front...)

Get the latest driver from nVidia. Dell's driver may be one or more
generations out of date. That alone may solve your problem. However,
nVidia doesn't seem to "acknowledge" their laptop GPUs in their
official software packages. At least the GeForce series aren't
officially supported by their drivers.

Try http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/ ... I used their driver package on
my Latitude D800 with GeForce Go FX5200 video. It worked great and
solved a number of odd problems I was having with the Dell drivers.
Not sure if they have anything for the Quadro or not.
