It looks like we are being fooled by Dell for months now;
we (in Belgium) ordered in december last year a notebook Inspiron
9400(dual-core)
and asked explicitly on the phone how Dell was going to handle the Vista
upgrade.
We were assured that 1) there would be a voucher for the upgrade and 2)
there would be no extra cost except the shipment & handling cost.
At the moment of delivery there was no voucher. We were told that there
would be
a web-based procedure to be followed in order to obtain the Vista upgrade..
but the development of the site was not ready for Europe yet. (We knew by
then - from this forum that there was a dellvistaupgrade.com site somewhere
but it didn't accept our European Tags).
Two months, 6 calls and ten emails later : with the addition of the
Netherlands and Belgium countries link at that site and forwarded to a
0800-number we learned that - because we ordered the PC's with a dutch XP
version we will not receive a Vista upgrade - end of the discussion and the
sales rep doesn't reply his mails....
Now how is that for service and customer focus..
Has anyone in a similar situation in Europe resolved that matter with Dell?
