Deskpro 2000 6000MMX - stucked in on start

I have connected samsung hdd, but everything stops with black screen and white cursor blinking in the corner.
It showed compaq logo on the start, then - message about finding new hdd, and then - it stucked.
May be I need some kind of user diagnostic diskettes or something that? I cant find them anywhere on the net.
Please, help.
