Hello,

I am begging for someone to help me out with this!

I have a Powerbook Pismo 500mhz 384MB RAM (has been upgraded from its
original 128MB) 1MB Level 1 Cache, 12GB HD, 8MB Video/Upgraded DVD/CDRW
combo.

I have been helping my girlfriend who is dyslexic with her college studies
as she is trying to push herself and get a qualification.

Unfortunatly the Pismo we have been using to type up all her work has now
decided not to start up properly! Thus losing access to a load of work that
needs to be handed in on Monday!

I have done some research into this problem, and it seems you need to start
up the powerbook from the original start up CD. Unfortunately this powerbook
did not come with a start up CD as it was bought second hand.

I am desperate for someone to help me out and source a copy of this CD.
Can anyone help? Is there anywhere I can download it?
Hotline? any where else?

Id appreciate anyones help.

Please email me at

Thanks

Michael

You forgot one very important piece of information - is this OS9 or OS X
we're talking about here?

One simple solution (depends, of course, on what you mean by the very
vague phrase "not to start up properly") is just to hook the Pismo to
another Mac via firewire and start it up in target disk mode. Presto,
there's all your work. m.

Wow, I've heard of the 3-finger-salute from Windows ... but a
whole-hand-salute? Geez.
