DOS packet drivers for Nvidia NForce 430 network card on M2NPV-VM motherboard?

After having setup my computer with the Asus M2NPV-VM motherboard it works ok
with XP. But I have two problems with the on board network adapter, an Nvidia
NForce 430 network adapter.

1) The Windows Bart PE cannot install the network adapter
2) I use Norton Ghost for backup via network. I cannot find a DOS packet driver
for this network adapter.

The next best solution would be to buy a NIC which ships with DOS drivers. There
are only 2 PCI-slots, so I want to keep them available rather for other adapter.

Any idea?

Viktor

Try a USB NIC then and see what happens.

The DOS Packet drivers are on the CD that came with the MB.

That´s where I searched at first.

\Drivers\Chipset\32Bit\Ethernet is the directory where I would expect the
driver. There is not file as much as I know which would remind me of a DOS
packet driver. Did you mean another directory?

I know they used to be on the drivers cd, but I went through my inventory
and all of the mb's i have in stock do not include the drivers, seems they
changed what was available. The following link is about all I could find,
they are the nvidia reference drivers for Dos. Asus is supposed to supply
them according to Nvidia but they seem to be hidden lol.

I also contacted ASUS customer service - that was their response:

.....and it is my pleasure to help you with your problem today.
Because the lan codec is integrated in chipset, so we only have Win2K / WinXP
/WinXP 64bit driver at present. Sorry for any inconvenience. You also could ask
nvidia for help.

Friendly but unfortunately no more DOS driver.

I tried with the drivers and instructions from there, but did not succeed to get
the 2 NICs on 2 clients communicate correctly under DOS.

I have given up, purchased a 10 € Surecom Gigabit NIC, took the driver from the
floppy in the box and snap - it worked on the first attempt to create a
NIC-DOS-Ghost-Bootdisk which communicated instantly and correctly with another
NIC under DOS-Ghost on my laptop.
