Hi All,
I have a DP35DP board using G-Skill DDR2-800 1GB modules. I'm not
able to boot when I use 4GB of memory. When I first bought the board
I wasn't able to boot with 3GB of RAM, but I did a BIOS update a few
months later and I was able to boot with 3GB of RAM.

I just ran the latest BIOS update (0407), but I still can't get it to
boot with 4GB. When I put in the 4 modules it doesn't even post.

Any ideas?

Thanks.

Did you contact Intel support?

Most consumer motherboards have severe timing problems when running a 32 bit
OS such as XP or Vista and trying to use ALL four RAM slots. Either use
three slots OR better yet, use (2) 2 GB RAM sticks and avoid the whole
problem.

Your problem may be the 800 MHz modules. Some Intel motherboards can only
run at 667 MHz when all slots are filled.

According to Intel, the DP35DP is rated for 4 pieces of DDR2-800 MHz, 5-5-5
memory, both double- and single-sided. Using all 4 slots is the only way to max
the board out with 8GB, since it will only accept 2GB modules at max.
But only a couple of memory manufacturers have been certified, and G-Skill is not
among them.

Where you able to figure out the problem?
I have the same board and xp won't boot all the way when I have two
2GB sticks (4gb total) of 800 MHz of ram either.

^ Hey, updating the BIOS to 0413 solves the problem. I couldn't post
with 4GB of Mushkin either (only the single 2GB stick) and as soon as
I flashed it the board picked up the other stick no problems.

Here's a direct link to the 0413 XP PRO BIOS update, I recommend doing
the EXPRESS BIOS UPDATE (at the bottom) for ease of flashing:
