EasyTune 5.0 Smart Fan control disabled

I'm using EasyTune 5.0 Build 2007.01.19 with a GA-965P-DQ7 motherboard, Bios F8
and an Intel QX6700 CPU with stock Intel fan.

The "Smart Fan" control is disabled (grayed out). I think it used to be
functional. Does anyone know how to enable it?
