Hi,

can someone tell me, what is the difference between the 755-A and the 755-A2
from ECS?
I can't see any difference in the product specification.

http://www.ecs.com.tw/products/pd_sp...product_id=381

http://www.ecs.com.tw/products/pd_sp...product_id=420

Thanks!

Maybe A2 is new revision of the board?

I tried the 755-A board with very bad experience: The board did not work
with 200MHz memory speed (Mushkin PC3500 Level I, CAS2, 3, 3)... system
crashed all the time. Now the same memory is working at 220MHz speed in my
new MSI K8T NEO board with same timings without a hitch! 166MHz memory speed
setting did work stable, but I'm not satisfied to run memory so slow.

Second... the highest overclock the board booted was 203MHz... Now the same
CPU and memory is running at 220MHz in my MCI board.

I'm returning the board to the vendor now...

I advise to stay away from the ECS 755-A, unless you use only PC2700 memory
and do not overclock.

When I looked at the spec's pages on Dec. 23, 2003 they were identical.
If you look at them now, then you can see that support for DDR400 has been
removed for the 755-A. :-(

yep, been there, done that
ECS sucks
I have a 755A.
I have the original spec page for DDR400 saved and in the manual that
comes with the 755A also says DDR400.

ECS blew it.
