I have a system put together with a Socket "A" mother board and an AMD
Althon running at 1.1 Ghz. I have only two PCI slots that are both
being used. One for a SCSI controller for my Scanner and one for a
Sound Card. I want to add an external DVD writer with a Firewire
connection and an external Video capture card (which I have already
purchased that is USB 2.0 compatible. I have 2 USB ports but both 1.1
of course. I have found expansion cards that are very inexpensive
that add both Firewire and USB 2.0 on the same card, but I don't have
an spare PcI slot. Is there a way of expanding the number of card
slots with an external chassis or any other way for that matter? Any
ideas would be appreciated, I am sure there is a way of doing this, if
you know what you are doing.

Thanks
Barry

No, I am afraid that you're only choice is either to give up the SCSI card
and SCSI scanner and switch to a USB based scanner for use with a new USB
2.0 PCI card; OR, buy a new motherboard that has more PCI slots and USB 2.0
built-in.
